"God will judge the poachers but it’s up to us to arrange the meeting"
Recently Botswana took delivery of 14 Bat Hawk light surveillance aircraft, which will be used in anti-poaching patrols to protect elephants and other endangered animal species.
According to the report, Brigadier Benjamin Masunga of the Botswana Defence Force, said the government wanted to send a clear message that it remained committed to the fight against poaching to protect elephants, rhinos and other critically endangered animal species.
Botswana’s Minister of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism, Tshekedi Khama, has warned poachers that the government will protect rhinos at all costs, Botswana’s daily The Voice reported. “In fact poachers should start carrying their IDs so that we can notify their next of kin. Yes, God will judge the poachers but it’s up to us to arrange the meeting,” Khama was quoted as saying.
Moreover, he said by vigorously fighting poaching, the government wanted to ensure that the country retained its status as one of the world's top safari and tourism destinations.
